At Bleep, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your information. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your private content and anonymous usage data in our iOS and macOS app.

1. Information Collection and Use

Private Bleep Content

Bleep is designed so that we cannot access the content you create or save in the app. This includes your notes, saved links, images, files, room names, and search terms. Your content remains on your device and, if you enable iCloud sync, in your personal iCloud account. It is never included in Bleep's app analytics.

Anonymous App Analytics

We use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service provided by TelemetryDeck GmbH, to understand how Bleep is used and improve the app.

Bleep sends limited usage events, such as when the app is launched or a feature is used, together with technical information such as the app and build version, operating system version, device type, language, locale, and region.

These events are associated with an anonymized identifier that cannot be traced by us or TelemetryDeck to a particular person. TelemetryDeck hashes the identifier before it leaves the device and hashes it again on its servers. TelemetryDeck does not store IP addresses and does not use cookies, advertising identifiers, or technologies that track people across other companies' apps or websites.

We do not send TelemetryDeck your name, email address, Apple ID, precise location, contacts, or any of your private Bleep content, including notes, links, images, files, room names, or search terms. We do not sell analytics data or use it for targeted advertising.

TelemetryDeck processes anonymous event data on infrastructure located in Europe. Events are available to us for the analytics retention period included with our TelemetryDeck service. Older anonymous events may remain in TelemetryDeck's cold storage. Because events are not associated with your identity, neither Bleep nor TelemetryDeck can locate analytics events belonging to a particular person.

Anonymous app analytics are collected automatically when you use Bleep. Because the events cannot be associated with your identity, they cannot be accessed or deleted on an individual basis. For more information, review TelemetryDeck's Privacy FAQ and Privacy Policy.

2. Data Storage and Sync

Local Storage

Your private Bleep content is primarily stored locally on your device. This means that your content remains under your control at all times.

iCloud Sync

To provide seamless synchronization between your devices, Bleep uses Apple's iCloud service. When you enable iCloud sync:

• Your Bleep data is encrypted and securely stored in your personal iCloud account.
• The sync process is managed entirely by Apple's iCloud service.
• We do not have access to your iCloud account or the data stored within it.

Please note that the use of iCloud is subject to Apple's own terms of service and privacy policy. We encourage you to review Apple's privacy practices for more information on how they handle your data.

3. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to help protect your data within the Bleep app:

• Your private Bleep content is stored locally on your device, protected by your device's built-in security features.
• When using iCloud sync, your data is protected by Apple's encryption standards during transmission and storage.
• We recommend using strong device passcodes and enabling biometric authentication (like Face ID or Touch ID) for additional security.

4. Service Providers

Bleep does not share your private content with third-party services. We use Apple's iCloud for optional data synchronization and TelemetryDeck for the anonymous app analytics described above. TelemetryDeck does not receive your private Bleep content or information that directly identifies you.

5. Children's Privacy

Bleep is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or maintain personal information from children under 13. Anonymous app analytics cannot be associated with a particular child or other individual.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You have control over your private Bleep content, which is stored locally or in your personal iCloud account. You can view, edit, or delete that content within the app. Anonymous analytics events are not associated with your identity, so they cannot be retrieved or deleted for a particular person.
